Stress Analysis Process

Analysis is done in three phases

  1. Input
  2. Analysis
  3. Output

Input:

  1. Line Designation Table (LDT) and P&ID from the Process Team
  2. Stress Isometric Drawing of Line to be analysed
  3. Process Flow Diagram/datasheet
  4. Equipment General Arrangement Drawing and detail drawings
  5. Piping Material Specification
  6. PSV/Control Valve General Arrangement and Datasheet from Instrumentation Team
  7. Soil Characteristics for underground analysis from civil team
  8. Nozzle load limiting Standards
  9. Plot plan to know the High point (finished) Pavement and equipment orientation
  10. Governing Code

Analysis:

  1.  Checking the completeness of the piping system received as a stress package
  2. Node Numbering on Stress Iso
  3. Filling the design parameters on stress iso like
    • Design Pressure
    • Design Temperature
    • Operating Pressure
    • Min. Temperature
    • Fluid Density
    • Material
    • Line Size
    • Thickness
    • Insulation Thk and Density
    • Corrosion Allowance
  4. Modelling the piping system in caesar II using parameters from stress iso.
  5. Analyzing the system and obtaining the results

Output:

  1. Final Marked up iso’s for the Layout team
  2. Support Loads to Civil
  3. Spring Hanger Datasheets
  4. Datasheets for Special supports like swat brace, struts, snubbers etc.
  5. SPS drawings
  6. Stress Package Final Documentation for records
